About us...
Who the heck is Renée?Here's what she looks like...

Renée was born in Santa Barbara, California on Valentine's Day in 1976. She and her parents moved up to Oregon when she was 4 years old, and she has lived here ever since. She got her bachelor's in anthropology and master's of education from the University of Oregon, and she is now a middle school teacher with Portland Public Schools (and a good one at that).
What about this Nick guy?
Here he is...

Nick was born in Evanston, Illinois in 1975. He spent his entire life in Evanston until he went to Drexel University in Philadelphia where he get a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Then he decided he missed his mommy, so he moved back to Evanston to get his Ph.D. in chemistry at Northwestern University. Now he works for Intel Corporation out in Hillsboro, Oregon working on developing their newest semiconductor manufacturing processes.
How did you two meet?
We met in the most romantic way possible: Renée was trolling Craigslist and came across Nick's post. Instantly recognizing the romantic potential, she sent him an e-mail asking him for some more details and possibly a picture. Nick quickly sent a reply. Renée responded by ignoring him for about 6 weeks. Then she finally replied. Then Nick ignored her for another 6 weeks. Somehow it all worked out. It's kind of a blur. We eventually got together for drinks and then *bam* that was that.
How did you get engaged?
Quickly! We hadn't even been dating for 4 whole months when Nick popped the question. The ring was hidden in a box of Moonstruck chocolates (that Nick had re-shrinkwrapped, of course). Nick convinced Renée to go for a late night stroll to the summit of Mt. Tabor. Then while sitting on a park bench looking out over the Willamette valley with the moon setting behind the hills, Renée found the ring hidden underneath one of the chocolates. Nick was so nervous he could hardly speak, but somehow he asked her to marry him. Before Renée could say "yes" the two of us busted up laughing, Nick from nervousness and Renée from shock. Finally Renée eeked out a "yes", and that was that.
