Getting to the wedding

The map below shows where Mt. Tabor is located in Portland.  The wedding will take place at the summit at 5:00 pm, but you can't park at the summit, so you'll have to hoof it to the top.  Don't worry.  It's not very high, and for those who can't make the climb, we will be providing a shuttle service.  No matter how you're getting to the top, keep in mind this an outdoor wedding on grass in a public park, so wear comfortable shoes.  Also be sure to allow extra time for parking and walking to the summit.

There are several entrances to the park. However, the best entrance to use is the SE 69th Ave. entrance two blocks south of SE Belmont St. Click here to map your own directions to the park entrance using Google Maps. You will know you are at the right place when you see this sign:

Parking

Once you are at the park entrance on SE 69th there are a few possibilities for parking. If you turn right there is a parking lot with 35 spots about 0.2 miles down the road.  If you turn to the left instead and drive about 0.2 miles, there is more parking along the road.  There is also a small lot with 12 parking spaces.  However, it is likely to be a nice Saturday afternoon, so it is possible that many of the parking spaces will be already filled.  If this is the case, you may need to find parking in the surrounding neighborhood.  You can get back out of the park the way you came in and you should be able to find a spot on the street within a couple blocks of the park entrance.

Getting to the summit

Once you've parked, you need to walk up to the ceremony site located at the summit.  It's a quarter mile walk from the entrance sign to the site with an elevation gain of about 200 feet.  Below is a map of the park showing the location of the ceremony which we suggest printing out and bringing along.  Click here to download it (pdf).

There are numerous trails throughout the park and several of them lead to the summit.  However, the path we've shown is the only paved stairway to the summit, and we highly recommend using this route.

Please note: there is a gate that prevents you from driving to the summit.

Summit shuttle

If you are unable to walk to the summit, we will provide a shuttle service. Please meet at the entrance sign at 4:30 pm.  Please let us know if you need to use this service so we don't leave you behind!

Getting to the reception

The reception will be held immediately after the ceremony at the Northstar Ballroom in North Portland.
